This time around Tuko would like to discuss regarding what inspired by yesterday's event. So last night Tuko was just hanging out by a local book store to get some duct tape. And then there's a call from an unknown number (not saved in the phone book). Tuko picked it up and the one calling talks in a very calm and heavy voice. He claims that he's from the Polda (Sectorial Police kind of). His voice sells it though, because stereotype voice of police is like that.
So he told Tuko that Polda is doing a stock clearance on confiscated vehicles from incidents, accidents, raids, etc. And the price is going to be very low due to this is not for making profit, but just for clearing up the warehouse and also for helping the police. Tuko couldn't hear him clearly because of the book store was kind of packed. But Tuko asked where the guy got this number from. And he said from a very close friend of mine which is well connected to the cops. So in the end Tuko said that just call back later because it's hard to listen what he's saying.
After hanging up and around 5 minutes, there's 2 long text messages received. Which contains information of pricing of motorcycle and cars. The price are just simply awesome. Very tempting.
Luckily Tuko asked a friend. And according to her, just ignore it. Because that happened before to someone she knows. The cops actually pretend to be someone that he knows, a friend let's pretend he claim his name is Mr. XXX. And talk as friendly as possible saying that this is a good business, buy low with legitimate papers & registration and then sell at market price. At first he was convinced and wanted to check the bank account. And then because of he forgot what's the price of a certain car (there was no text message on his case), he called back that friend but with the number saved in the phone book. And the real Mr. XXX was confused by saying he didn't make any call or offer like that to him. So he hangs up with a doubt now in his head.
Not long the "friend" called again and make excuse he's a different Mr. XXX. And keep pressuring to immediately do money transfer to secure the order. While at that time was around 8 or 9PM (which is the same time Tuko was called). The guy was still in doubt and said wait he'll try to check his bank account. Not long the fake Mr. XXX called again and still keep pressuring to immediately do money transfer. So the guy asked "why do you need it so urgently? It's already night time anyway. Come and go together to the cops to do cash deposit if really is that urgent."
Fake Mr. XXX tried to make excuses this and that, which starts to make the guy even more aware of there's something wrong. And the guy tried to keep on doing this face to face. So by the end the fake Mr. XXX just hangs up.
What is wrong with these people? Are they not afraid there'll be jail waiting or God's punishment or karma? Not just this kind scam. There are actually a few which Tuko already fell for before and also received but ignored due to already know about this scammers.
There are many for example the famous ones are:

These above are the numbers currently Tuko can gather. Tuko will still try to find more of the numbers, email address, BBM PIN, etc. But if any of the number turns out to be a legitimate number, please let Tuko knows and Tuko will remove them. Because usually these number above are pre-paid numbers and once they are already use the number for a scam, they'll dispose of the number and get a new number. And according to the SOP by the telecommunication operators, after longest of 3 months inactivity the number will be reactivated and sold as new number. So there might be a chance the number is now being use for legitimate business or personal use.
Tuko really doesn't know what to komen else than "may you receive what you sow!!!"
There are things we do, we see, we eat, we drink and so on. But sometimes we are scared to try new things. So Tukang Komen a.k.a. Tuko (read as Too-Co) representing KomenApa here will share all the experiences. Tukang Komen is taken from Bahasa Indonesia which means Comment Specialist.
